Absolutely amazing game. I honestly wish more games worked like this. It's definitely an experience you should try with your friends, siblings, parents, SO's. Me and my sister played for 4 hours or so now, and I can tell you, yelling at each others incompetence is the best part. The game also has quite a nostalgic feel, It's been a while since I've played a good platformer. This brings a new mechanic to that, and the way the developers executed it was awesome. Buy the game. You won't regret it.. Typically I will wait until I have gameplay to show before I post a review but I just had to jump in and leave a positive comment. This game is hands down one of the best experiences I've had in VR in a loooooooong time. I'm only about an hour or so into the game, but the level design is fantastic, the characters are interesting, and the gameplay is tuned wonderfully.I played the VR aspect of it while my friend was on the computer. We were recording two different screens, a webcam, and audio while playing the game at the same time. Absolutely 0 issues with framerate, lag, or jitters. Both the VR person and the 2D person have plenty to do. Neither one of us felt like the other had the more fun role and each level presented new obstacles that both of us had to adapt to. The level of communication needed was perfect, with invisible blocks on one side and invisible patterns for the other person, as an example. To work around these problems, we had some great moments of 'wait you can see that and you didn't say anything!?'In just the first hour, we had new block types, bosses, lasers, bombs, flying monsters. For a game that can reach up to 15-20 hours, I'm really hoping they keep up the variety! My only complaints (and they're more suggestions really) would be to allow the person in VR to see the 2D point of view (maybe a little mini screen pops up?) like the 2D person can see the VR view. I'd also love to see the lore expanded a bit more at the beginning - not so much the story, but about Carly and the Reaperman. Why are they working together? Why is Carly here? Why am I helping? Etc... This may get explained as you go on, but some motivation to kick things off would be helpful.Overall, the game is amazing and I absolutely recommend anyone with a VR headset to try this gem out!. Cute game - pretty fun, creative and nice design - two bugs in the first five levels which is a bit annoying and a bit expensive though. Still, good fun to play with the girlfriend. Non-VR player camera controls are far from perfect, needs a recentre. Bugs were: Player character stuck in building (level 3?), blue block dissapeared entirely upon collision with orange block and didn't respawn. Additional suggested improvements: Turn world rotation on by deafult, lots of people will play seated and it's rotated 180 degrees to start with, environment map dissapears on world rotation.. I'm playing this game with a friend and we really love it. Games like those are rarely & unique. I would love to see more games like this! :)Thanks so much!. My wife asked to write the review for this one:"Carly and the Reaperman is even more fun than the trailer suggests! I had the happiest of times playing with my husband. His platforming skills made him the best choice for Carly and I played as the Reaperman. With its beautiful art style, increasingly elaborate level design and a seemingly simple, yet very poignant narrative, Carly delivers one of the most creative VR experiences that I have ever played. That being said, it does have some flaws. Several glitches in the game resulted in lost progress, forcing us to repeat some of the most difficult levels. In one instance, we found a way to cheat through some pixel perfect platforming just to avoid having to repeat the entire puzzle for a 2nd time. Throughout the game, you have the option of collecting small, glowing orbs, but we could never figure out what they were used for if anything. In that same vein, we were never given more then a handful of choices for character costumes. Not that these two things are integral to the whole experience, it just left us wondering why have them in the game at all then? Overall I would recommend the early levels of the game to anyone, but playing through to the end of the game will take patience, lots of communication and a great degree of skill. *Fist bump!*". This game is filled with great the idea to trust in your friend >.> which may be bad or good depending on who it is. I love the mechanics and the vr/desktop puzzles work hand and hand together. I have not seen any problems in the game so far. I really hope this game gets more reconition because it truly is a great experience. if you would like to see some gameplay.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLSyllW91Pc. Very fun and innovative way of multiplayer between VR and standard controllers. The puzzles are fun and challanging. Very underrated game!. Very very beautiful (local and online) coop platform puzzler. One player is controlling Carly with a game controller on the desktop screen and the other player is in VR as some kind of godlike creature building the way for Carly. The puzzles tend to get really challenging towards the end, which is good (at least if you try to collect all fireflies, which we did), so good teamwork (and brainwork) is essential. Next to no bugs and a good amount of playtime. Unrestricted recommendation, BUY IT!!!. One of the best co-op VR games out there.
